Dogs Eating Dirt
Can anyone tell me why dogs sometimes eat dirt?

Scientific Reasons
Perhaps the combination of plant material and dirt creates a medicinal quality that we do not yet understand? I don't have an answer, but unless you dog is eating large quantities, filling up on just dirt, etc, I personally would not worry about this too much.
