Grooming my new Shih tzu    I just got my new Shih Tzu and I finally decided to name her Antsy because she is always moving around and jumping as if she never gets tired. I love her to bits and pieces. She is my angel now. Anyway, I use a wide-toothed comb to brush her hair and she really likes it. I want her to have log, flowing, and silky hair. My cousin suggested that I use that kind of brush and not any other else. Also, should I use any kind of sprays or shampoo to make her look cleaner and prettier? I am new to all this because she is my first dog. I need all of your help!

Grooming my new Shih tzu
Congratulations on your new dog. I hope that you take care of her very well and that is a really nice name. I also own a Shih Tzu and they love pampering a lot. I recommend that you use a slicker brush because that is what I use to keep their hair tangle-free. I know a lot of people who only uses a comb for the hair of their Shih Tzu and I have noticed that can hurt the dog too much especially if they pull very hard. You must brush the hair of a dog very gently even if you use a slicker brush because even that could hurt them if you do it roughly.

Grooming my new Shih tzu
Hi! Wow what a nice name you gave your dog. It might be really perfect for her. I use a slicker brush for both my Shih tzu and Poodle and it really give them hair free from any tangles and really soft hair. I am really careful when I use the slicker brush because if I pull to hard it's going to hurt the dogs and will remove the hair of the dogs. If you do it carefully and properly, it will give you the best results. I recommend that you use it if your dog has longer hair maybe around 4 to 5 inches if possible.
