No way! I just think that it is very disgusting and I cannot do that to someone I have treated as a pet and have loved for a very long time. Yes, I do eat meat but I could not eat something that I have hugged, took care of, and almost like a family to me. But then again, I really do not despise or judge them from doing that because maybe that is already part of their traditions. But for me, I would never eat or touch the meat of any dog. I just find it disturbing and disgusting.

In my opinion, it is also very wrong. I could not stand to eat something that I have loved. It is just wrong. My friend told me that he had a bad experience when he went there. There was this stall selling all kinds of meat, foods, and other delicacies. He tried on this piece of meat and he thought it was very delicious. He got another piece and he finished 4 pieces. He really liked it because it was tasty. Only after eating everything did he find out that it was dog meat. He almost vomited when he asked a friend what it was when he got home.

Even though they are the most delicious and tastiest meat out there, I would never, ever eat one. It is just wrong. I mean dogs can feel just like we do too. They give unconditional love to their owners and trust them a lot. I just think that it is betraying the trust of the dog. Maybe the people in China are not entirely eating their pets. Maybe like in the farm where they breed cows, maybe something like that and they would buy it in the market. I have heard some stories that eating dogs are more prominent in Korea.

I am really confused about this topic and I could not choose one side. First off, I love animals and I would never eat my dogs because they have been with me for years already. It will be like killing and eating another family member. I just could not do that. However, when I really think about why they do it maybe they eat dogs because they have no other food sources and other kind of meat is scarce in their area. Another reason might be they do not have money for food that's why they thought about eating their own dogs just to feed their family.

Maybe you are right when you said that they need the dog to feed their family. But if it is me, I would never do that. I would rather work hard to earn money so that I can feed my family something else like cows or pigs. I would rather feed my family vegetables or fruits than to kill an innocent animal which I think is totally beyond my capacity.

I also feel the same. I would rather see my family eat fruits and vegetables than to see them eating a dog. I also don't think that my family would eat a dog anyway. Even though we think and react differently from other people we should still respect what they are doing especially their tradition and cultures. Maybe eating dogs is a part of their culture so we really could not do much about it.

No way! I would never eat a dog even if my life totally depends on it. I'd rather eat leaves or something. It made me wonder though what is the difference from doing this from killing other animals like cows and pigs and eating them. Isn't it just the same? Isn't it all to satisfy the needs of humans? It may sound really weird but I could not see much difference even though I would not eat dogs. I guess we just have to respect the different preferences and cultures of people.

Well, I guess that maybe it all depends on your culture whether it is acceptable to eat dog meat or not. Maybe the people in china and other countries in Asia who eat dog meat do not think that other nationalities would be offended or think of them differently because that is part of their culture. We could not take that away from them. We have a very large world rich with different cultures and traditions. What may look weird to us may be completely normal for other people.

I just can't imagine myself eating a dog. God created certain animals that are meant to be eaten like cows, chickens and pigs. He has also created other animals that are meant to be our companion and these includes dogs. I would never eat any animal that I have had as a pet even if it is a chicken or pig or whatsoever. i just can't stand eating animals that I have loved especially dogs and cats. they are just very gentle and loving creatures and it is wrong to kill and eat them

Hello. I love all kinds of animals but I do not agree with what you have said that there are some animals that are created just to be eaten. I think all animals, including us are to be eaten. I think that it is a life cycle. For example, if snakes do not eat mice or other animals, then there would be too much mice and can destroy cities or farms. Do you get my point? However, I still won't even eat a dog because that is not my preference. I am just stating my opinion and I still respect yours.

It's alright. I am not offended at all for I also respect what you think. As for me, I just think that all animals should be treated with respect, love, and kindness. I think that you are right. Everything will all boil down to culture and preferences. We have our own preferences and if those people from Asia love to eat dogs and cats, I will have to respect that.

Eat my dog? Are you kidding me? I have never heard of a story as sick as this because I live in my own little bubble. I'm just kidding. Anyway, I would never do that to a dog that I have loved as if he is my son, took care of for 4 years, and was a friend to me. I could never do that. It is simply inhumane and we, as humans know better than that. It is just so sad that other people eat dogs and other domestic animals as part of their traditions. No offense meant to anyone.

Hi everyone. I'm not really sure of what to think about this issue. It just makes me sick. I have a sister who went to China with some of her friends for vacation last summer. Well, they were back-packing in some countries in Asia. She would tell me stories about how dogs and cats are delicacies in china. She had a friend who ate it and was very satisfied about it and persuaded her to try one. She would not dare because we have a lot of dogs at our parent's house where she lives. She is also a dog-lover you know.

Really? What did her friend say about the taste of the dog? I was very curious about this topic so I searched it on the net. I didn't know, until now, that this kind of eating dogs and cats are rampant in Asia especially in South Korea and China. I just find it really weird but I would never try that since I am not into that kind of things. Although I must apologize for what I have said in my previous post that it is gross even it is part of their traditions. I realized now that respect must be given to everyone.

I know a lot of people have tried the dog delicacy when they were in China because they did not know that it was a dog. They told me that should they have known that it was a dog, they would have never touched it. My friend, who lived in China for a few months, told me that not all Chinese eat dogs. It is more common for dogs to be eaten in rural areas where they are not yet modernized. Maybe they will stop eating it altogether if they are modernized or something.
