Dog attacks humans    I know this is already late and this happened a year ago already but I can't stop thinking about it. This was the story about a dog that attacked a baby and accidentally killed it. This kind of accident has been happening all the time and at an increasing rate. What can we do to prevent or stop these vicious attacks? I think that no matter how much we love and cherish our dogs, we must still think about the lives and safety of the members of our family first. In this incident, I think that the dog mistook the child for a doll. This is very tragic.

First off, I am a big animal lover especially dogs. I have a lot of dogs at home and i treat them as babies. In my opinion, I think that people should not put all the blame on the dogs when they attack humans. They usually attack when they are provoked. From what I know, dogs usually attack kids who throw rocks or sticks at them or are hurting them which they feel that there is a need to protect themselves. I am really sorry though what had happen to the baby. I don't think that the baby provoked the dog so maybe the dog thought that it was a toy and he played with it.

I am also a big dog lover myself! I have a lot of dogs both big and small breeds. I always tell my family that even though our dogs are very gentle and loving we must still show them that we are in charge and that we should not do anything to provoke them to hurt us. I mean as much as we love them so much, they are still dogs. You are also right. The baby is not capable to provoke the dog so the logical explanation might be that he thought the baby was a toy.

Yes, I also tell my kids that all the time especially my little boy. He would play with our Rott all the time and sometimes they would play like my dog would nibble or “puppy bite” him. He is usually under our dog. I would tell Dylan that he should not do that and he should always stand before him so that our dog would know that Dylan is in charge or in control. Going back to the story, I also think that maybe the baby was crying and the dog did not know what it was so he started to play with it.

I agree. I also think that they should not put the entire blame on the dogs because we, as humans, know better than them. I think that we should put the blame on the parents because they left the baby alone with the dog. They should have been more responsible. I mean even if you are busy doing something you should always prioritize the lives of your family. They should also have been more responsible to at least introduce the scent of the baby to the dog just like what you have said.

There have been many speculations why the dog attacked the baby. There are some people that are saying that maybe the dog got jealous of the baby because he used to be the baby of the two owners. Others are also saying that the grandmother was there when it happened but she really can’t stop the dog from attacking the baby. I heard the dog also bit her. Some crazy stuff but bottom line is the baby is dead and we can no longer bring him back by finding out the real reason behind it.

The people are crazy! Instead of making up stories I find it really weird and offensive that they are making up stories about the baby. I mean it is like they are making a big circus out of what happened to the poor baby. I mean, come on, the baby is dead and instead of sympathizing with the parents they are doing that. Anyway, what usually happens to a dog when he/she attacks or accidentally killed a human? Will they be killed or will they be just put away? I’m confused because I have read some stories wherein dogs attacked a boy and they were just released after 10 days.

I'm so sorry about what happened to the child. I would really not know what to do if I were in that situation. I think I would go really crazy. It was just a tragic accident. If dogs attack humans, I think if they killed someone or are still being aggressive, I think that the police will shot them down. Or if they are not that aggressive, maybe the dog control police will get them. It is just so sad because I love dogs and there are really irresponsible owners everywhere.

I know a story about a little girl who was attacked by a pair of vicious Pit bulls. They are my neighbors and we live in a very safe environment. The girl, Casey, is always playing outside with the other kinds. There was this one time that her parents allowed her to play outside. They allowed her because this is a very safe neighborhood with no threat at all. They were really shocked when Casey went home with blood on her face because of a dog bite. Casey was hysterical and crying. Turns out that the children of the owner let the dogs loose. That was the first time that happened to our neighborhood.

What happened to the dogs? Casey is still very lucky she only got minor injuries. Pit bulls attacked her? I do not know what to believe in anymore. I was just browsing some websites and researching about dog bites and guess what I found out. It turns out that most of the dogs that attack humans are Pit bull. I always thought that we should not generalize but with what is happening, I could not help but wonder. Trained pit bulls who are sociable and well-trained are loving towards humans, but those who did not have much contact with humans are more likely to attack.

The pit bull was a very viscous dog. He would always bark at anyone who passes by their yard. There was this one time that he growled at my brother. It was a good thing that my brother was inside our yard with a high fence. I think the owners of the dogs are very irresponsible. They always let loose the dogs and the owner would blame the children saying that they let the dogs loose. The dog that attacked Casey was sentenced to euthanasia. No one in court was in favor for the dogs to be released for he is very aggressive.

Even though I love dogs, I think that the decision of the court was very just and correct. If a dog has attacked or killed someone with no reason at all and the victim did not provoke the dog, the dog should be punished. I think that no one agreed in favor of the dog because they think that the dog was a real threat to the members of your community.

I have found out that we must show the dogs that we still have power over them and we should not show them that we are weak. Dogs can also attack when they are frightened and when they are not feeling well. I have also found out that 77% of attacks happened at home and almost 50% of them with the family dog. With this, I realized that maybe we should give dogs more respect especially when they are not feeling well and assure them that we are in control and not them. We must still keep our guard because they are still animals.

I am not in favor of the decision of the court. Did the girl die? I think that they should not kill the dog because he did not kill the girl. I think that the owner should be put into jail because he was not responsible enough. He allowed his children to let the dogs loose. About the pit bull, I think that they should just rehabilitate the dog and keep them there until he is stable and well enough to socialize with humans. This is only my opinion.

I have read some stories before where there was this boy that got mauled on by a dog because he entered his neighbor's house and he was badly hurt. So the animal control officers arrested the dog. When the dog is already in the care of the animal control, the veterinarian there said that the dog is very sweet and not aggressive at all. The owner said that maybe the reason why the dog attacked was maybe he thought that the boy was a threat because he was guarding some puppies there.

Dogs don't attack unless they are provoked. Children are usually attacked by dogs because the dogs feel that they have to put up a guard and protect their selves. There are some children who constantly tease dogs, throw sticks and rocks at them, and pull at their ears or tails. They are hurting the dog. I am not saying that the children deserve that. All I am saying is dogs only attack if they are hurt or provoked.

That is a really sad and tragic story. This kind of stories makes me really sad especially when it is a baby or young child is involved. It is just so sad that babies are suffering from this kind of events just because of irresponsible dog owners and in some cases parents are also to be blamed. They should never let a child alone with a dog because we may never know what will the dog do next or what will be his reaction towards different things.

Yes, stories involving children always makes me feel sad. I mean they don't deserve to be treated like that. It turns out that the parents are taking some stuff out of their car and they left the baby alone in the room and they left the door ajar. The dog probably entered the room when he heard the baby crying and took it. The parents felt really horrible and they did not know how to react because they never expected that from their dog.

The parents should have been more responsible and they should have made sure that the door was closed. Look at what happened, they cannot bring back what is already gone. I am sure that they felt really horrible for they were the one to be blamed why their baby is gone. With regards to this topic, I just hope that everyone finds peace, even the parents.

It is just very sad that many people are not taking this issue seriously. I have seen many people just shrugging their shoulders whenever they see or hear a story like this as if they don't care about it. Was the dog killed? I think the dog should be put down because it took away the like of a human being. Others may say that the dog does not know what he was doing, that is not the point. The point is the baby is gone forever and the parents could not bring him/her back.

Based from the stories that I heard, yes, the dog was put down. The family had no choice. They lost their baby and they think that it is just right that they put down the dog who took away the life of their baby. Do you think it is right that they put the justice into their own hands? They were really devastated by what happened and they didn't know what else to do so they did the unthinkable. It was a very tragic ending for the family. The dog used to be their baby even before they conceived their real baby.

Well, I really think that it is the responsibility of the dog owner to do that and put justice in their hands because the life of their child was taken away. It is just so sad that a happy family was to end that way. I haven't experienced that before so I do not know the feeling, but I also sympathized with the parents because they have lost a child due to a circumstance that they could have controlled, but they did not. They should have been more responsible. I know that I’m going to get mad at for saying this.
