Chocolates for dogs
Is it alright if I feed a piece of chocolate to my dog from time to time? When I eat a chocolate like Hershey's, she would come to me and give me that puppy look which I totally can't resist so I give her usually a small piece of chocolate. Now my problem is my friend told me that feeding dogs with chocolate can be lethal for their health. Does anybody know the reason behind this? Am I hurting my dog with what I am giving to him? Please somebody enlighten me regarding this problem of mine for I don’t want to be the cause if something bad happens to my dog.

Yes, chocolates are indeed very bad for the health of your dog and you should never feed them any kind for they may affect the health of your dog in the long run. When Princess was around 4 months old, she ate a whole bag of chocolate chips. I was very terrified because when I got home she was very sick. I just found out that she ate the whole bag when I saw the empty bag lying next to her side. It was very terrifying. I immediately brought her to the vet and I paid a thousand dollars just to get her out.

That is one awful experience you had ilovedogss37. I would not know what to do if that happened to Hunter. There was this one time that we left a huge hershey bar on the side table and when we got home we saw that he has finished almost half of the bar. It was such a good thing that we got home just in time or else Hunter will just end up in the veterinarian and me with an empty pocket. You should never give chocolates to your dogs, not even a small amount. Also, do not give your dog cooked bones.
