Can I suggest that you go to Dogs Trust, there is one in York and Leeds and also visit the RSPCA. If you get a dog from a shelter they will already have been checked for their attitudes towards children. In addition you will get 'after adoption' service- you can phone anytime and their behaviorists will also visit you at home if necessary.

Please check out your local rescue group, they have them for both breed specific and non breed specific- it is best because they get to know your dog and place them with the best candidate...and they care for them via foster home until they find the right family.

Re: Looking To Give A Dog A Home !
You may also want to check out Blue Cross in Grimsby down there at Nelson Street. They offer pets to be adopted by interested parties, and these pets are vaccinated and wormed. So, you don't have to worry about your children's safety. You're pretty sure you'll have a great pet in the family. Upon adopting, the pet will also have a six-week free PetPlan Insurance. Go ahead. It's fun having a dog in the family. I, myself, have one, and my dog really makes everyone happy, especially my little brothers.

Dogs are like human beings. They know who are good to them. They can feel the warmth of your embrace.

By simply giving the dogs decent food and not only bones makes them feel at home. Dogs are intelligent animals. They easily identify who love them.

There are, of course, dogs who can't be with little kids. Be careful of choosing what breed of dog you're going to bring to your home. You must be sure that you're getting a toy dog.

Like for example, what my friend had and gave it to his daughter, a chiwawa. I think you should prefer those cute little dogs, of course, the toy dog ones. just as what Sinclair has said.
